Highway
The Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance of all county roads, to include snow removal and sanding, grading and road repair. This does not include municipal roads, S.D. Highways and U.S. Highways.
Hutchinson County currently consists of 814 square miles. Of those 814 square miles, the Hutchinson County Highway Department is responsible for 228 asphalt with 252 miles of gravel. We have 116 bridges throughout the county that the highway department is responsible for.
