HUTCHINSON COUNTY, SD

Auditor

• Auditing financial records, payroll, budget preparation, levies, entity tax apportioning, and elections

County Assistance

• Provides emergency financial assistance for individuals meeting the required criteria

Drainage

• Enforces the regulations that govern the drainage of water within the unincorporated area of Hutchinson County

Election

• The Auditor's Office is responsible for all election duties in all county, state, and federal elections including maintaining voter registrations and election history

Emergency Management

• Local government agency charged with coordinating the intial response to disasters and emergencies in the Hutchinson County area

Equalization

• Annual assessments of all taxable real property in Hutchinson County for property tax purposes

Extension

• Provides a variety of 4-H programs for youth of all ages

Highway

• Repairs and maintains roads, culverts, and bridges of all county roads including snow removal

Register of Deeds

• Keeps record of deeds, mortgages, and other instruments authorized by law to be recorded

Sheriff

• Serving and protecting the citizens of Hutchinson County

State's Attorney

• Serving as the chief prosecutor of adult and juvenile crimes in Hutchinson County 

Treasurer

• Responsible for collecting real property taxes and issuing motor vehicle titles and license plates 

Veteran Services

• Assisting veterans and their dependents and survivors in applying for veterans' benefits including benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of South Dakota.  

Weed & Pest 

• Conducting an effective weed and pest management program within Hutchinson County 

Zoning

• Responsible for managing the physical growth of the unincorporated area of the county
